Fitbit Alta featuresFitbit- Alta

The Fitbit Alta is one good looking fitness tracker and it is also becoming the #1 Best Seller on Amazon.

The Fitbit Alta can track your steps taken, distance, calories burned, your sleep pattern, and your active minutes. The great thing about this fitness tracker is you can view your progress through your tracker itself or through your phone for a more in depth preview.

When you are at a down point during your day, the Fitbit Alta will remind you to start moving and stop being lazy. I need that in my life sometimes and the Fitbit Alta does a great job at it. This fitness tracker helps me stay on my toes and keeps me motivated!

The Alta does come with smart track, which automatically recognizes certain activities when performing them for more than 10 minutes.

With the OLED display, you are able to see your stats and time with no problem at all. The sunlight won’t make it hard to see your time and stats, you’ll be able to see everything even when the sun is at it’s brightest.

You are also able to track how long and how well you sleep automatically and set a silent, vibrating alarm.

Another great feature the Fitbit Alta has is being able to receive calendar, text, and call notifications when your phone is nearby. You are not able to reply or answer the call but at least you can have an idea of who is calling or texting when you’re away from your phone.

It also doesn’t receive your emails just in case you were wondering.

One thing I did notice is once the notification has passed on the screen, you are not able to view it again so once you feel the vibration from your Alta, be sure to see that notification coming in the first time or you have to get your phone out and view it, it doesn’t have a notification hub to view your past notifications.

A lot of people probably won’t like that idea but the Alta is a fitness tracker and not a smart watch. It will do what it needs to do to help you stay in shape and achieve your goals.

When you want to view your stats on your Alta, all you have to do is either tap the screen or tap around the band itself. It’s pretty responsive and doesn’t give that laggy touch. If you want to navigate through the features, all you do is tap on the Alta, there is no swiping involved.

You’re also able to change the clock face on your Alta so it does give you some options and not the same clock face all the time.

One thing I would have to say that bothered me was the Alta not having a heart rate monitor or not being able to pair up with one.

There is no button to bring you to a home page or anything like that so it’s kind of a let down on that end.

Battery Life Fitbit- Alta

The battery life on the Fitbit Alta can last you up to five days depending on what you use it for and it only takes about an hour to fully charge.

If you’re a popular person that gets a whole bunch of calls and texts throughout the day, your Alta might lose battery life a little faster.

The charging cable that comes with the Fitbit Alta is a clip on type charger, it is not a bad charger but it would be nice if it had a micro usb charger and if they made the cable a little longer than what it is.

Available colors for the Fitbit AltaFitbit- Alta

The Fitbit Alta comes in Black, Blue, Plum, and Teal, but you can always get other band colors that are sold separately.

The bands are really easy to take off and change, you can change them out without any tools needed.

The two sizes they come in are a small and large.

Small– 5.5″-6.7″ in circumference

Large– 6.7″-8.1″ in circumference

When purchasing the Fitbit Alta in the store, the box has a little diagram showing what size will best fit you.

Is the Fitbit Alta waterproof?

The Fitbit Alta is not waterproof but it is sweat resistant and can take a little rain drops here and there. You cannot submerge the Alta in water, if you do it will most likely break.

I wash dishes with my Fitbit Alta and just wipe it down when I’m done but I don’t soak it to where it’s under water for more than 10 seconds.

This is one thing I didn’t really like about the Alta, I would prefer my fitness trackers to be waterproof.

What comes in the box?Fitbit- Alta

  • Charging Cable
  • Wireless Dongle- small usb to synchronize your data on a laptop or desktop computer
  • Instruction Manual

Is the Fitbit Alta really worth the money??

I really like the Fitbit Alta, yes there are some things that I dislike, like not being able to use a heart rate monitor and not being waterproof.

In the end I thought to myself… Do I really need to monitor my heart rate 24/7? The answer, No! Or do I need to go swimming with this tracker? Answer, no again, and I’m perfectly fine with it. At least it’s able to tolerate my sweat and the rain.

The main reason why I like the Fitbit Alta is it’s not to bulky on the wrist and it has a great look to it. Fitbit really made this fitness tracker stylish and I’m liking every bit of it.

And it’s not too much on the pocket compared to it’s other Fitbit Brother Charge. They run around the same price but the Alta has a nice and more sleek screen to view your stats and notifications.

I hope this review of the Fitbit Alta has helped out and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below.
